Early Beginnings
Mr Mojtaba’s journey in dentistry began at Tehran Medical Sciences University, where he graduated in 1994. Following his graduation, he didn’t immediately jump into orthodontics. Instead, he spent nearly a decade gaining valuable experience in general dentistry. This period included owning and managing his dental practice, where he honed his skills and developed a deep understanding of patient care and dental needs.
Transition to Orthodontics
In 2003, Mr Mojtaba embarked on a new chapter in his professional life. He began a rigorous three-year full-time orthodontics training course at the University of Manchester Dental Hospital and Fairfield General Hospital, Bury. This intense program was not just about learning orthodontics; it was about mastering the art and science of enhancing smiles.
This has given Mojtaba a great opportunities to work and learn from brilliant consultants and researchers at the University of Manchester. Well-known academics, such as Professor Kevind O’Brien, Professor David Bearn, Professor William Shaw, Mr. Nicky Mandal and Mr. Gunver Semb were “a treasure that I found at the world of orthodontics in Manchester in 2003, which resulted in contributing in many scientific papers published in respected world-class journals of orthodontics”, says Mr Motjaba.
Academic Achievements and Teaching
Mr. Mojtaba’s dedication to his field was exemplified by his academic achievements. He received a Master of Science in Orthodontics from the University of Manchester. Furthermore, his skills and knowledge were recognized by the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, where he earned a Membership in Orthodontics. This distinction is significant as it placed him on the General Dental Council’s Specialist List as a Specialist Orthodontist.
After achieving these milestones, Mr. Mojtaba also served as a Clinical Teaching Fellow at the University of Manchester for two years. His commitment to education underscores his belief in continually learning and sharing knowledge, a philosophy that benefits all his patients.

But Haniyya Shaikh was so lovely and kind.I would not hesitate to recommend to anyone who is frightened of the dentist . The young Dental Nurse is lovely too A1 A1 A1 5 star. I could have hugged both of them I was so rattled when I went in and they took it in their stride . Also Michelle Recp and Blond lady sorry I didnt get name also the lady in the Hijab A big Thank all of you Ill be back next year.

Pat Frederick23 March 2023As an elderly lady with severe breathing problems and a pathological fear of dentists, I feared the worst when I needed to receive treatment. All my fears have been dissipated, the treatment I received (involving drill work) was painless, speedy and stress-free. My comfort was a major consideration at all times. I have many health issues (including deafness) and all attention was paid to factoring in these setbacks. The dentist was infinitely reassuring throughout and executed my drilling and filling with speed and efficacy. The nurses also could not have been more comforting and efficient. I can only say that such exemplary treatment has allayed my deep-seated fear of dental work. I can reiterate that I would recommend Poppies Dental to any and everybody, especially those with a phobia of dentists. Top marks to all involved.
