We offer two types of retainers to cater to your specific needs: fixed retainers and removable retainers.
Fixed retainers, also known as bonded or permanent retainers, consist of discreet, thin wires discreetly attached to the inside surface of your front teeth. Their hidden placement ensures they remain out of sight, allowing you to enjoy your straightened teeth without any visual interference.
Despite their concealed presence, fixed retainers require periodic examination either at our office or by your dentist. These checks ensure their effectiveness and monitor any plaque buildup around the appliance. In the rare event of a fixed retainer breaking due to active teeth movement, we urge you to contact us immediately for a prompt replacement.
Our removable retainers closely resemble Invisalign® clear aligners. We rely on Essix removable retainers to provide you with a convenient retention solution. Initially, you should wear your removable retainers both day and night. However, as your treatment progresses, Dr Mojtaba will guide you on transitioning to night-time-only wear. Retainers are not just for a year or two; it’s often best to wear them long-term, as teeth can shift throughout your lifetime.

If you prefer more frequent review sessions beyond the standard six-month intervals, we can arrange them for you at a nominal cost of £25 each.

But Haniyya Shaikh was so lovely and kind.I would not hesitate to recommend to anyone who is frightened of the dentist . The young Dental Nurse is lovely too A1 A1 A1 5 star. I could have hugged both of them I was so rattled when I went in and they took it in their stride . Pat Frederick23 March 2023As an elderly lady with severe breathing problems and a pathological fear of dentists, I feared the worst when I needed to receive treatment. All my fears have been dissipated, the treatment I received (involving drill work) was painless, speedy and stress-free. My comfort was a major consideration at all times. I have many health issues (including deafness) and all attention was paid to factoring in these setbacks. The dentist was infinitely reassuring throughout and executed my drilling and filling with speed and efficacy. The nurses also could not have been more comforting and efficient. I can only say that such exemplary treatment has allayed my deep-seated fear of dental work. I can reiterate that I would recommend Poppies Dental to any and everybody, especially those with a phobia of dentists. Top marks to all involved.
